Guepardos Cycle-touring Club, with the endorsement of the Federal District Sports Institute; the Competative and Recreational Cycling Association of the Federal District; the Government of the Federal District; the Government of the State of Mexico and the Edelweiss Cycling Group of the Huesca Aragon province of Spain present: THE SEVENTH ANNUAL GRAN FONDO "QUEBRANTAHUESOS AMÉRICA” "BONECRUSHER of the AMERICAs” Options: Gold 128 miles Silver 112 miles INFO: Date: Sunday, July 17, 2011 Place: Mexico City, Mexico Starting point: National Sports Commission, Camino a Santa Teresa No. 482 Time: Official start is 7AM Participants: · All cyclists 18 years and older, male or female · Registration will be limited to 1000 participants. Requirements: · Road bikes in good state of repair · Approved cycling helmet and gloves · Disc wheels are prohibited · Both wheels must be the same size – 700c · Aerobars may not be used on descents! Registration: Begins February 2011 Registration details: · Cost is $500 Mexican Pesos. Cost day event is $600 Mexican Pesos. · No registration by phone or fax. · No registration packets given out the day of the ride. · Registration fees are NOT refundable. · Registration with life insurance included ends July 15th. · Registration ends Saturday, July 16th. Awards: · Awards will be handed out at the finish area at 3:30PM. · A commemorative medal will be awarded to all finishers of the route. · Free samples will be handed out by our sponsors. Official Results: Official time results will be available Wednesday, July 20, 2011. GENERAL INFORMATION Registration packet pick-up: b. A formal presentation of the event and the routes will be at 6 PM at the event headquarters. Registration includes: · Rider numbers for helmet and rear of jersey · Commemorative medal for all riders completing 100% of the route. · Mechanical assistance throughout the ride. · First aid assistance throughout the ride. · Security along the route · Life insurance and medical expenses coverage by Insurance Company throughout the ride. NOTE: Time trial climbs of the Lagunas de Zempoala and Ocoyoacac are for the Gold and Silver routes – there are no time trial climbs for the Bronze route. IMPORTANT NOTES!!! · Any participant who does not pick up the registration packet on the day and schedule as detailed above will lose ALL the benefits and services of registration. · The registration fee does not include return transportation to Mexico City. Bus transportation is available for a cost of $100 Mexican Pesos and should be reserved and paid for at the time of registration.
