The beginning of this great adventure

Everything was ready long ago, thanks to the partner's coordination of FK, this adventure begins on February 9th, at 16:30 hours, when I tackled one Airbus A320, which I left my beloved Guatemala, a horizon that never would have imagined.

All the time I had the support of my family and was good to have a partner in this adventure but, I was facing an unknown adventure, with so many difficult feelings to decipher. The moment had arrived, could no longer turn back. Now everything was done .....

After 21 hours of travel I arrived to Gardemoen, Oslo airport, a whole new world waiting to meet me behind those doors, just a small detail separated to me from my new adventure .... The first challenge was to overcome, my baggage was delayed.....

I ventured me out to this cold city with a thin coat and my hand luggage, the temperature was -1° C. Walking on the frozen snow, seeking the train station address, for to wait the train that would lead me to the place that in the following 10 months would be my home.

The FK Training Course

Here is told how the Fredskorpset's program was carried out. I had the opportunity to meet people from other parts of the world, who would be participating in an exchange program like me.
This program is called North-South, because it consists in sending professional between North countries and South Countries. The purpose of these exchanges is to assist in establishing contact between individuals, organizations and institutions in Norway and in the developing world, based on solidarity, equality and reciprocity.
We had three weeks of training, workshops, plenary lectures of great importance.

At the same time we had the opportunity to perform many recreational activities, and to share and learn about othe  cultures in the world.
